Halloween Costumes Scarecrow Cutie Adults Costume (discontinued)

Halloween Costumes Scarecrow Cutie Adults Costume costume includes: felt hat and dress with patches.

Little painted faces, pointy witch hats, two feet tall clowns, skeleton costumes - it's that time of year again - Halloween is here.

Tell the truth, when you rummage through the basket of your kids trick or treat candy are you checking to make sure it's safe or are you looking for your personal favorite candy bar to munch on?

Sometimes I think there is still a little bit of the child left in each of us. Who can forget the anticipation we all felt as Halloween approached. Don't you remember going out in the dark dressed up in weird costumes with your friends, and depending on your age maybe one parent lingering in the background? Don't you remember the tinge of fear mixed with a tingle of excitement?

Trick or Treat, Trick or Treat, I can still remember the well-intentioned taunt make to smiling parents of your friends and your neighbors. Then there were the nasty older kids who were only out to spoil everyone's fun and throw raw eggs that splattered on doorways and sidewalks. I wonder if they grew up to be bullies or patrons of some other form of anti social behavior.

Today there are also unfortunately the Kooks. The weirdo's who place razor blades in candy, who sneak up behind people and punch them and run off with their cherished possessions and rob them of their self-respect. I guess they are a product of the true state of terror we live in. No one is safe any more, not old people or little children, not the infirm or feeble, not the weakest amongst us, and especially unfortunately not on Halloween. And the worst is that there are terrorists lurking out there in every nook and cranny of our economic and social system waiting to take advantage of this era of our discontent.

The term Halloween (and its alternative rendering Hallowe'en) is shortened from All-hallow-even, as it is the eve of "All Hallows' Day", which is now also known as All Saints' Day. It was a day of religious festivities in various northern European Pagan traditions, until Popes Gregory III and Gregory IV moved the old Christian feast of All Saints' Day from May 13 (which had itself been the date of a pagan holiday, the Feast of the Lemures) to November1. In the ninth century, the Church measured the day as starting at sunset, in accordance with the Florentine calendar. Although All Saints' Day is now considered to occur one day after Halloween, the two holidays were, at that time, celebrated on the same day.
- Wikipedia

Today carved pumpkins called Jack-o'-lanterns are used to scare off evil spirits and for decorative purposes and the holiday has become popular as a children's event.

Isn't it time we all returned to some basic values and helped our children celebrate a holiday of treats and traditions? Isn't it time we tried to take the fear out of every day living for ourselves and for our kids? Isn't it time we looked inward to our personal clown and started to have some fun again? Why can't we just enjoy the moment?

Let's cherish our traditions. Let's spend some time with our kids. Let's bob for apples not problems. Let's have fun again. Let's give ourselves a treat and not trick ourselves into forgetting who we really are and what we stand for. Don't let a bunch of kooks and terror-nooks spook you. The guys behind the masks are the ones who are really scared.

Happy Halloween.

Material Girlie Adult Halloween Costume (Standard (One-Size))

Includes: Dress. Wig, hair tie, jewelry, gloves, microphone and shoes not included.

Have you ever sent holiday cards to your friends? For some people, sending these cards is one way of sharing the memory and experience of their holidays to their friends and family. In my case, holiday cards have become an obsession. Sending these cards is my favorite part of holidays. Not only do I purchase enough to send to friends and family back home, I also collect entire sets of cards to bring back home as keepsakes of the holidays Ive experienced.

My memories are vague when it comes to remembering the moment that I began my obsession. I think it might have started when my family received holiday cards from our relatives in Hawaii. The feeling I experience was quite powerful, I can still vividly recall that experience. It felt so good to hold that card in my hand that it almost felt as if I was in Hawaii having a wonderful time with a faceless cousin. I guess that it was during this time that I realize that if holiday cards could produce such a powerful effect on me, they would surely have the same effect on other people.

When I had grown up, got a good job and began to make a little money, I started to travel on holidays of my own. In each place I visited, I would always make it a point to stop by at the nearest tourist station to send a set of holiday cards home. My family and friends have learned to keep track of my hectic schedule through the number of cards they receive from me every year. Sending cards is also my way of letting people know that you remember them even if you are having a good time on some exotic island getaway.

I am so obsessed with sending holiday cards that my obsession has probably over taken other peoples obsession with sending out cards on festive occasions. My mother for instance would always send cards during Christmas. But even her mammoth efforts pale in comparison to my passion of sending cards on holidays. Maybe you should also try it yourself. You might also find sending holiday cards an enjoyable activity.

Star Wars Darth Vader (TM) Child Costume Dark Lord of the Sith

Battle the Rebel Alliance as Lord Vader himself! Our costume is complete with injection-molded facemask, flowing black cape, printed jumpsuit and a 3-D utility belt. A great Halloween costume!
Customer Review: Good & Bad points re Mask
My son loved this costume though he wished the mask covered the back of his head too (just like the real Darth Vader). To remedy the problem, we planned to attach a black cloth on it but decided not to in the end since the adhesive might damage the mask. Anyway, the mask is sturdy and made of hard plastic unlike the other masks we got with some costumes before. Overall, it's a good deal to get this costume (except for shipping costs).
Customer Review: uniform
Don't waste your money. The mask hurt my son's face. It wasn't even dollor store quality. Sorry, I usually do not give bad reviews.

It is Tuesday before Thanksgiving and your home is a buzz with excitement. Now is the time for a cool head and to start the cooking. It may be hard to resist the temptation to taste all the pies and treats a bit early but you can resist. You may even be so inclined as to make a little extra for your family to sample early. This is a sly method of keeping happy forks from eating the pies two days before Thanksgiving.

Two days before Thanksgiving:

Now is the time to make pumpkin pie, parker house rolls and the stuffing for your turkey. You can refrigerate the pies and stuffing and then pull them out the day of Thanksgiving.

Stick with making only the pumpkin pie and other non-pie desserts. This is not the time to make apple or pecan pie. The crusts of these two pies will not hold up for two days in the refrigerator.

If you will be having a first course soup such as pumpkin soup this can be made two days in advance of Thanksgiving. You can also make up casseroles and cranberry sauce at this time.

Sweet potatoes can be prepared at this time and stored in the refrigerator until Thanksgiving. With the sweet potatoes and casseroles simply prepare them in their baking dishes and wait to cook them. They will easily transfer from the refrigerator to a pre-heated oven on Thanksgiving and give you an almost seamless meal preparation.

Adult Snow Fright Wig - Fun with many Fairy Tale or Horror Tale Halloween Costumes!

Even though she is called Snow Fright - if she were wearing bright colors and a smile this would also be a Great Snow White Wig!

With all of the retail outlets displaying holidays decorations a month or more before the holiday, its sometimes difficult to get into the spirit of the season by the time it arrives. This is especially true of those who work in retail outlets because by the time you look at holiday decorations all day long, by the time the holiday arrives, youre tired of looking at the decorations and would prefer if it just passed right by you.

Avoiding decorating may be a solution to some of the holidays, but its difficult to avoid Christmas and Halloween, especially if you have young children. Easter the children are content with an Easter basket full of candy and/or toys, and some may not even care much about Halloween decorations as long as they have their costumes and Trick or Treat bags, but Christmas is just not the same without decorations throughout the home.

What do you do when you just cant get into the mood to decorate? What can you do to build the momentum and get into the spirit of the season? When it comes to Christmas, one thing that tends to put people in the mood is seeing decorations in homes and businesses. This does mean the decorations that stores put on display for sale, but the decorations that are delicately placed by homeowners, tenants, or business staff. Another momentum builder is visiting holiday villages such as Bethlehem, Pennsylvanias Christmas Village with all of the many displays, many showing decorating ideas that have been used for centuries. Taking a walk through holiday villages such as this one with the lights shining, decorations displayed for viewing, and the sound of music radiating through the air is enough to make one feel the spirit begin to engulf them. Even better when it comes to Christmas is to see the snow falling upon the beautifully decorated trees and glistening among the many brightly lit holiday decorations.

Child's Peter Pan Halloween Costume (Size: X-Small 4-6)

The season of holidays is fast approaching. Halloween is almost around the corner. Then, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year festivities are not far behind. People generally throw parties according to family tradition. Some may have a potluck, buffet affair. The guests bring their personal favorites, and everyone shares a conglomeration of yummy dishes. Others have more formal gatherings and pull out the best china. But, costume parties are a good choice, when it comes to indulging in a little fantasy or throwing a theme masquerade.

For example, consider the fun of throwing a party with a theme of another country. For instance, what do most people imagine, when asked how they envision a party in Asia? I am fairly certain a Geisha girl would come to mind. Kimonos are absolutely gorgeous. Although I do not understand how these beautiful ladies accomplish the task, but a chopsticks adorned hairstyle is definitely intriguing.

Another great idea is period costumes. For example, what is one of the most colorful and unique periods in recent American history? Think Woodstock. Of course, most people will think of hippies and free love in the sixties. Even for the next generation can enjoy a conversation about going retro. The wild attire and Go-Go boots are great. Most cannot fathom parents being kids during that time.

Alternatively, a blast to the distant past may be a different theme to explore. Although it is hard to imagine, the Renaissance really did occur, and a time did exist when citizens are basically poor or rich, nobility or peasant. But, even though the times are probably something not to be seriously revisited, the attire is definitely interesting and fun.

Sometimes, great themes for costume parties are influenced by real life. For example, many people have a loved one who is, has, or will be serving in the military. Stickers and banners are everywhere, encouraging the communities to keep these loyal Americans in thought and prayer. So, why not throw a support our troops party. Pick any branch of the service, and it is easy to find a great selection of costumes. In fact, camouflage costumes always available to support all servicepersons.

So, enjoy the holidays. Plan a party of two. Establish a theme, and go to a party in style, decked out in a great costume from a different time or place, or in support of those who have no time to party. Instead, they are protecting our freedom to have a good time and celebrate the holidays. Enjoy the upcoming seasons of celebration.

After the box is dry, let them decorate the box with markers, stickers, sequins, glitter, etc. Next, have children shred some paper (use a variety of colors) and fill the box with it. Have them add some Hershey's Kisses, Hugs, or other candy. Finally have children attach the following poem to the box and then give it to their Mom for Mother's Day.

This is a very special box

That's just for you from me.

It's filled with hugs and kisses

So you'll always think of me.

Decorative Soap

Cut a piece of felt, decorative paper, or fabric to fit around a bar of soap. Wrap the material around the soap and glue. Let dry. Decorate the top and sides of the bar of soap with small silk flowers, ribbon, lace, sequins, beads, etc.

Heart Pendant

Mix together one cup flour, one cup warm water, one-fourth cup salt, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, one teaspoon oil, and a few drops of food coloring. Roll out dough. Nut and Bolt Halloween Costume

Nut and Bolt Halloween Costume, be the most clever couple at the party.

When shopping for your kid's Halloween, consider an Iron Man costume. There's a good natured-story behind it that you may be able to teach your child.

This year, Iron Man was the movie that kicked off the superhero summer blockbusters. We followed how the genius playboy industrialist, Tony Stark, became Iron Man after escaping from a terrorist group. The origination of Iron Man was similar in the comic books. But instead of a terrorist group, he had to escape capture from the Vietnamese during Vietnam War. In both cases, an ordinary man was able to become a superhero through trying times with no particular super power.

At first glance, Iron Man may seem a fit to what we consider as a superhero in our culture. He can fly. He can lift very heavy things, like a car, and toss them. He can withstand bullets and many forms of weapons. Truly, as a super hero, Ironman is as powerful as they get. But behind the costume is just a man.

But what a powerful concept to inspire your kids! A man who overcame obstacles much more powerful than him. A man was resourceful enough to come up with a solution that kept himself alive. A man disciplined in the sciences so that he can create extraordinary devices with limited supply of raw materials.

In the comic books, Iron Man was a founding member a superhero group called the Avengers, dubbed as Earth's mightiest heroes. The original Avengers included Ant-Man, Wasp, Thor, the Hulk, and Iron Man. Of all these members, Iron Man was the only who does not have special powers.

Ant-Man and Wasp were able to change their sizes from insect to giant (100 ft). The Wasp was also able to shoot electrical bursts from her hand. Thor was an immortal, the Asgardian god of war. And the Hulk was strength incarnate from gamma ray exposure. Yet, with ingenuity, Iron Man was able to match well as an Avenger when saving humankind from extraterrestrial danger.

Perhaps the most important reason why Iron Man is a great inspiration was his courage to change to do the right thing. In the movie, while under captivity, he observed that his weapons, the ones manufactured by Starks Industries, were being used by terrorists. In fact he was kidnapped by the terrorists to create another sinister weapon that can be used to wage war.

After some soul searching, he had an epiphany that his resources were better for use in defending the innocents rather than empowering war mongers. This was a very bold decision because much of Starks Industries' business come from military weapons sales. He was practically committing corporate suicide, but nevertheless, he was a man with resolve in doing what he thought was the right thing.

Iron Man 2008 movie child costume is available at the Planet Comic Book Radio online store. Planet Comic Book Radio is a weekly talkshow and blog on everything comic books.

4-Pc Fairy Feline Adult

It's a jungle out there - - and you can be the queen of it with this 4-Pc Fairy Feline Costume. Costume features a tube top jacket and faux fur trimmed skirt with tiger print, tail and ears.

In this instance the seventh note in the key of "G" is F sharp. Consequently the G Major seventh chord would be spell: G,B,D,F#.

You can hear another example of "color" tones by listening to "Lyin' Eyes" by the Eagles. The first chord is "G", listen closely and you will hear a slight change in the texture of the "G" chord. The second chord is a "G" major seventh, which is a basic chord of G major with an added seventh note.

When you are learning guitar online pay close attention to how the original recordings by the Eagles "sound". If you can hear different sounds other than the basic chords, experiment with
some of these ideas you will be surprised how easy it is to play the Eagles songs.

3. Listen for "color tones". Color tones are notes that are added to the basic chord to give the chord a different flavor. Listen to "Tequila Sunrise" by the Eagles and you will hear the basic "G" chord change slightly to a "G6" chord. The "G6" is simply a "G" chord with an added sixth note.

Learn Guitar Online, Eagles - 3 Tips To Pick Like The Pro's

Learning the guitar online can be fun however, it does have some frustrating moments. For example, let's say you have decided to learn the song "Hotel California" by the Eagles. In theory this should be pretty straight forward. Simply type in the title "Hotel California" into your favorite guitar TAB site and away we go.

When a guitarist wants to use two "drone notes" the strongest choices are the first and fifth notes of the key you are playing in.

Try the "Em" chord shape with the capo on the seventh fret, immediately you will recognize this sound and identify this chord as the opening chord for Hotel California.

Let's take a look at Hotel California to help you get a feel for the Eagles style of guitar playing.

The basic concept is to select certain notes, usually the first note in the scale/key e.g., key of G, note one is G, key of E note one is E.

1. Use a capo instead of playing barre chords. It's common for the Eagles songs to be presented using barre chords. This is incorrect, the Eagles use a capo instead of playing bar chords.

These chords are "special chords" because they do not fit into any one category - many of them are one-of-a-kind chords having a unique sound which is all their own.

When the capo is on the seventh fret while the guitarist plays an "Em" shape the resulting sound to the listener will be "Bm", all the notes will be the same as the barre chord version on this chord. Both chord shapes will contain the notes B,D,F#. however the "Em" chord shape with the capo on the seventh fret will sound much more alive and crisp.

If you have a version of this song look at the first chord if it is "Bm" played as a barre on the second fret, move on to the next version of this song.

In a perfect world that's all you would have to do ... but, what happens when you type in "Hotel California". Instantly you are presented with 50 versions of this song ... where do we begin?

2. Play common note chords (also know as drone note or drone string chords).

Here's three simple tips to help you get that great acoustic guitar sound so popular at parties and at jam sessions.

Even though "Bm" is the correct first chord for Hotel California, the Eagles play this chord by fingering an "Em" shape and having the capo placed on the seventh fret.

The straight chord contains the notes G, B, D. Whilst the G6 chord contains the following notes: G,B, D and E. Notice the only difference between these two chords is the added "E" note, which is the sixth note in a G major scale.

A Christmas party for children is one of the most fun things to do during the entire holiday season as little ones are full of wonder and excitement this time of year. Here are some easy ideas to consider for making holiday themed invitations and also, what to serve your littlest of guests.

The Party Invitations

Don't worry about buying store-bought invitations as the homemade variety are even more fun to make and send! For a child's Christmas party, send invitations in fun shapes that reflect the season, including trees, stars, gingerbread men, and snowflakes. Then, attach a small candy cane to each invitation with a piece of red or green ribbon. Use glitter glue and any other crafty embellishments you can think of to make your invitations stand out from the rest.

If you'll be hand-delivering the cards, feel free to use any size or shape you can think of, but if you'll be relying on the postal service to let guests know of the upcoming party, be sure to pay a visit to the post office with one of your invites to have it weighed so you'll know how much postage to use.

Most party invitations are sent two to three weeks before the big day, however, December is an extremely busy time of year for most people as they're shopping and preparing for Christmas, and also, usually attending one party after another. For this very reason, send your invitations toward the end of November, not too early so that people will forget, but not late enough that everyone will already have alternate plans.

The info you'll want to include in your invitations to the children's Christmas party are:

- The day and date of the party
- The start and end time, if any
- The location of the party, the address and directions if necessary
- The R.S.V.P. details
- The name of the child hosting the party, if any

While you're making your invitations, now is a really good time to make the thank you cards using the same shapes and paper so when you're extra busy preparing for Christmas this will be one less thing you'll have to do.

The Kids' Refreshments

The type of refreshments you can serve at a child's Christmas party will vary depending on the time of day the party is taking place, as well as how long the party will last. For an early evening or afternoon party, snacks, treats, and some beverages should be enough to keep everyone satisfied, but if your planning on having the party near dinner time, you'll then want to make sure you have plenty of food and drinks on hand.

Here is a handy list to keep in mind of all the fun treats and holiday themed food and drinks you can serve your guests at your Christmas party:

The Snacks:

- Cookies, don't forget the gingerbread men
- Cupcakes
- Chips and dip
- Crackers and cheese
- Fruit
- Ice cream
- Pretzels
- Rice Krispie treats made into the shape of snowballs

The Main Course:

- Hot dogs
- French fries, tater tots
- Macaroni and cheese
- Nachos and cheese
- Pizza
- Sandwiches
- Stew

The Beverages:

- Apple cider (be sure it's pasteurized before giving to young children)
- Hot cocoa
- Iced tea
- Juice
- Soda

Also, before planning your menu remember to ask parents if their children have any type of food allergies you should be aware of, and also if their parents prefer them to have natural additive free food and drinks.

Whatever you decide to serve your guests, everyone is sure to have a great time at your child's Christmas party. Just be sure to have plenty of ideas for activities ahead of time and recruit a few other parents or family members to help keep things in order and running smoothly.

This decoration that can be crafted is Styrofoam snowmen. This is very simple to make and the materials needed are very cheap. The materials that you need are three styrofoam balls in sizes of 2 , 2 and 3 inch increments. You also need four toothpicks, small black pom poms, glue, ribbon and a piece of orange chenille stem. With the largest piece of styrofoam you want to take a knife and cut a flat surface for the snowman to stand up.

Next take one of the toothpicks and press into the top of the bottom ball. Once you have done this, take the mid-size ball and press onto the other half of the toothpick. With a second toothpick, press it a little more than half way into the mid-size ball.

Then place the smallest ball onto the other half of the toothpick. This will make the head portion of the snowman. Once we have done all of this we are half way done with our Christmas table decoration.

Once we have done all of this we can take the remaining two toothpicks and place them on either side of the snowman. This will represent the arms. Now we want to take the glue and the small black pom poms and place the eyes, buttons and mouth.

Now for the nose we will use the piece of orange chenille stem. The final piece of material that is to be used is the ribbon that will be glued around the nick. The will resemble the scarf that the snowman will wear.

Christmas table decorations are the perfect items to bring about the Christmas spirit into your home. Christmas is a wonderful time of the year and you should want to display your holiday spirit everywhere. This includes your table area.

With this one frugal idea, you can save tons of money while providing some quality time with the family as you construct these wonderful decorations.

First Lady Pink Adult Halloween Costume Size Standard (O/S) (B399)

First Lady Pink Adult Halloween Costume includes: Dress w/ attached belt and hat. One size fits most up to Size 10.

Advent calendars are a fun and exciting way to countdown the days to Christmas. Each day a new surprise is revealed as Christmas Day gets closer.

A Christmas Pyramid Advent Calendar makes the countdown even more exciting, as bigger surprises, such as ornaments and decorations for the tree, can be revealed.

But perhaps the most exciting way to countdown to Christmas is to reveal, day by day, new elements for a nativity scene, culminating on Christmas Eve with a tiny baby to lie in the crib.

Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day and lasts for 21 days to Christmas Eve. So you will need 21 square boxes, all the same size, decorated with Christmas paper, or painted silver or gold. Alternating gold and silver, or red and green, looks even more impressive.

Take the lids and remove the rims from three sides on each lid, using a sharp craft knife, leaving one rim intact. Paint a thin line of craft glue around the edges with no rim and dip in glitter. Allow to dry.

Make a hole in the edge of the lid opposite the remaining rim - right in the middle - and poke through a gold colored split pin. Open out the split pin on the inside of the lid so that it stays put. Do the same with all the remaining lids. Number each lid from 1 to 21 using stick on numbers.

Using craft glue or a glue gun, secure the remaining rim of each lid to one side of each box, so that it opens like a flap. Allow to dry thoroughly, and then start assembling your advent calendar.

Place boxes 1-6 side by side and make sure they are perfectly aligned with the lids at the front and the split pin handles at the bottom. Using craft glue or a hot glue gun, glue each box to its neighbor so you have a foundation row of six boxes.

Glue boxes 7-11 side by side for the second row, and place it on the first row as if you were making a pyramid of blocks. Glue it in place. There should be half a box length of the bottom row at each end of the second row.

Glue boxes 12-15 together, and make the fourth row with boxes 16-18, followed by 19-20 for the fifth row, and the remaining box - number 21 - on top. You should now have a pyramid stack of 21 boxes with flaps in front that open upward.

Put a Christmas tree decoration, a small gift, or a piece of a nativity scene in each box. The 21st box should hold something special - a glittering star for the tree, a Christmas candle, or the baby for the crib.

Place your pyramid on a shelf or in the window. You can further decorate it by covering the sides with glitter or placing Christmas ornaments on the steps.
