When is the best time to begin your search for Halloween decorations and costumes? The answer is as soon as you can. Today, you can begin at the end of summer if you use the internet instead of relying on your local stores. Halloween is a fun and spooky night that everyone can enjoy, however, if you wait until the day before time to go trick or treating, your kids may not find a costume they want as the store sells out quickly of the most popular costumes. However, online you can find costumes all year long and decide months in advance and then order in time to receive all the costumes you need for the entire family.

When it comes to decorations, you should look and see if you have any left from last year and then add to these. Creating a spooky and fun yard and home for Halloween is just as much for the adults as it is the kids. You can find such things as doormats that make spooky sounds, tapes of all kinds of scary sounds, zombies for the front yard, moving hands, and more. The possibilities are endless as long as you have the imagination to transform your yard and home to the spookiest in the neighborhood.

Once again, we must look at the costumes as these are really the most important part of Halloween. Each person can be any character they desire. You can create any type of Halloween party and go back in time to the early 1800's, the 1960's and the Hippie generation, or even create a party with a scary theme such as a crypt or graveyard. What about turning your entire yard or party room into Dracula's Den? Of course, the way you decorate and what you wear depends on whether you will have children or adults at your party.

If you are searching for costumes, you have to choose the costumes for their ages. For babies you can choose such costumes as kitty, elephant, pumpkin, lamb, and monkey. Toddler costumes are the most popular list are ballerinas, Spiderman, Pikachu, Minnie Mouse, and Mickey Mouse. As the children grow so do the costumes they wish to wear. You can find all kinds of costumes for the older children such as animals, Hannah Montana, Princess, aliens, and ninja warriors.

Teens of course, would not want to wear any of the above, as they would certainly say, "those are for kids". Teen girls would prefer such Halloween costumes as Elizabeth Pirate, Devil Fairy, or Genie Princes, whereas the teen boys are sure to want such Halloween costumes as Ghost Rider, Davy Jones, Sir Peter the Knight of Wolfsbane, and Jack Sparrow.

Of course, teens may wish to create their own unique Halloween costume and add a wig, especially the girls. Some of the wigs they may desire include China Doll, Angel, Long Punk, or Elvira.

Remember, Halloween is a night of fun, enjoy it, it only comes once a year.

Goddess Wig (Natural Red) Deluxe Adult Halloween Costume Accessory (B542)

Goddess Wig (Natural Red) Deluxe Adult Halloween Costume Accessory

Fire crackers and fireworks seem to have first place in the celebration of the Fourth of July, but a few 4th of July kids games and amusements of a patriotic nature or connected in some way with the symbols of the day may not come amiss.

1. 4th of July Kids Games - What Will You Do For Your Country?

  • The players are seated in a row or circle except the leader who is seated in the center of the group.
  • The leader begins the game by asking the first one "What will you do for your country." The player must reply immediately with a word beginning with the letter "A" such as admire it, adore it, aid it, act for it, etc., etc.
  • If he does not reply promptly he must pay a forfeit or he must pay a forfeit if he uses a word whichwould show disloyalty to his country such as antagonize it, abhor it, etc. etc.
  • The same question is put to each player to answer with a word beginning with the letter "A."
  • Then ask the first player again, "What will you do for your country." This time the reply must begin with the letter "B" such as battle, beg, bawl or be brave for it.
  • The next time use the letter "C" and so on through the alphabet.

2. 4th of July Kids Games - Rally Around The Flag

  • The children take hold of hands and form a circle, except one who is standard bearer and stands in the center of the circle holding an American flag having a staff about four feet long, which is pointed so it can be easily stuck into the ground.
  • The children all sing, The Union Forever, Hurrah boys, Hurrah! Down with the traitor, Up with the star; While we rally 'round the flag, boys, rally once again, Shouting the battle cry of Freedom.
  • When the children sing, "Hurrah boys, Hurrah," they wave their right hands high in the air. As they sing "Down with the traitor" all stoop to the ground. As they sing "Up with the star" all jump up and the child in the center raises the flag and waves it until the last line is sung, when he places the flag in the ground.
  • As the children begin to sing the third line of the verse, "While we rally round the flag, etc.," they join hands and circle around until the verse is finished, when they drop hands and run.
  • While the child in the center counts one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, halt.
  • If the standard bearer sees any child's feet move after he cries "halt," he has the privilege of tagging that child, who is then an ally of the standard bearer and helps tag the other children he sees moving.
  • If a child can reach the flag and touch it without his movements being seen by the standard bearer or his allies he is free.
  • When all have gained freedom or been caught the game is finished and may be repeated if desired, choosing a different standard bearer.

Mile High Pilot Adult Costume

Mile High Pilot costume includes shirt, tie, pants, and hat. Available in Adult sizes Medium, Large, and X-Large.

Here it comes again, the best holiday of the year. Oh yeah, you know Halloween is your favorite - even above Christmas. The biggest and best parties of the year happen at Halloween and you get the chance to dress up and be someone else for a bit. You don't get to do that at Christmas. As summer starts to wind down, you know it's time to start planning for Halloween - great parties and costumes to match. It only comes around once a year, so make sure you don't blow it. Follow these next seven costume tips and you can avoid the common Halloween costume blunders people make every year, and instead, have a costume that rocks.

Bullseye - Before you pick your costume, you've got to know what sort of Halloween party you are heading to and what your goals are. You might wear a super-sexy or raunchy-funny costume to the party of the year with your buds, but you wouldn't dare show up to a work party that way. Next you need to know what you are after with your costume. What's your goal? Do you want to make 'em laugh? Or are you looking to make someone want you? Maybe you've just gotta dance the night away. Or maybe you want a costume that will have you living out our fantasies. These are all good and fine. It's just important for you to know what you are after and choose the costume that works.

Keep it FUNctional - The two big questions here are - what sort of party is it and what sort of partier are you? Are you going to want to eat or drink a lot? Forget any costume that requires a full face mask. If there's eating or drinking going on, you're going to want your mouth available for easy access. Hoping to get into close body contact with someone? Then you've got to forget the big boxy, bulky costume ideas (like anything where you are inside a cardboard box or anything that has sharp spikes or corners). If it's human contact you want, make your costume easy to cuddle with. Already got a someone? Coordinate your costumes and look like a couple. Looking to score? Go sexy. Do you intend to party hard and get totally faded? If so, then remember you just might end up passed out on some lawn or floor? Think ahead - how is this costume going to hold up to spills, barf, and lying in the wet grass for hours. And most importantly how will it look in photos - cuz' you know some friend of yours is going to use their cell phone to get a picture of you all passed out, or maybe your photo will end up on the front page, or there's always the mugshot to think of.

Have a Fit - Wishful sizing just doesn't work. Don't buy a costume that is a size you "wish you were." If taking a deep breath is going to split your seams, it's a sign - get the next size up. If you have to hold your breath, lie on your back, or have your friends squeeze and squish you into an outfit, face it, it just doesn't fit. A costume that fits you right, will make you look great. Then you'll have folks checking you out for all the right reasons. You want that "Oh yeah" look not the "What the hell was she thinking" look.

No Encores - Don't hit the big party in the same outfit as last year, no matter how big a hit it was. Go ahead re-use some of the costume pieces, if you want, but come up with a unique fun look for each year. If you'll be hitting multiple Halloween parties over a few days, you don't want to show up in the same outfit night after night. You have two choices here - have multiple costumes or, at least, change up your costume for each party by adding some twist or variation to it each time.

All Eyes Here - Everyone has some attribute that really works for them - whether it be their hair or eyes or legs or arms or chest or abs. Think about it for a second. What is your best feature? Wear a costume that puts the spotlight right on that area. Use your costume to draw attention to your strengths and downplay the areas you'd rather not have folks notice so much. So, if you've got great legs but a bit of a muffin top, don't pick a costume that covers the legs and lets the belly hang out. Go with the short skirt or something that shows off those sexy legs, and choose a top that covers the pooch.

Sexy vs Skanky. It seems to me that quite a few folks nowadays are pretty unclear about difference between skanky and sexy. Don't turn Halloween into National Skank Day. Showing a little skin is good and fun - tease and tempt a bit, make 'em wonder, even provoking a wee bit of fantasizing is okay. You can be little revealing without looking like a total slut. If you have all sorts of T&A exposed all over the place, you ain't sexy - you're skanky. Butt cracks for all to see, butt cheeks hanging out, or any bit of nipple showing and your are entering skankville, for sure. We could go on and on about this point, but here's a good rule of thumb to follow: if Brittany Spears would wear it, it's probably skanky not sexy.

Attack of the Clones - A hot, new costume is out, so you buy one and are all excited, only to walk into the party and discover you are one of 50 people wearing the exact same outfit. Not exactly the way you wanted that to go, huh? It's just no good being one a gazillion Batmans at the party. Add a personal touch to the costume or really tweak it and make it totally unique. How you accessorize makes all the difference in the world. Think wigs, shoes, boots, boas, glasses, and stockings for starters. Be creative and put together an outfit that's totally you and only you.

There you have it, seven simple tips that can save you all sorts of pain, frustration, and embarrassment. Seven simple tips that will set you up for a great Halloween - at least as far as the costume goes. The rest - all that stuff about how to act and what to do - is up to you. We've done our part.

Adult's Pink Panther Halloween Costume

St. Patricks Day might not be known as a traditional gift-giving holiday, but that does not mean you cannot make it so. In fact, there are some incredible reasons to give gifts on this particular day. From very small gestures to rather large ones, this holiday does offer great opportunity to surprise a sweetheart, family, friends and even colleagues.

The ideas for holiday appropriate gifts do abound. From simple Kiss Me buttons to elaborate and sophisticated gift baskets full of holiday cheer, there really is no shortage of ways to spread a little fun and show people you care.

So, why should you turn this holiday into a gift giving occasion? There are plenty of reasons. Some of the best include:

The surprise factor. Most people expect to receive gifts on Christmas, their birthdays and even Valentines Day. They do not expect anything on March 17th. Giving gifts when there are no obligations or stings attached adds a surprise factor to the proposition you will not otherwise be able to achieve. Plus, this is simply a great way to show you care. Gifts that are given just because are often appreciated even more than those that arrive on traditional special occasions.

Adding to the atmosphere. There are some fantastic gifts to give sweethearts, friends and family for St. Patrick's Day that can add to the festive nature of this holiday. Gift baskets brimming with holiday fare, special clothing, buttons and more can just help add to the fun this holiday has to offer. Plus, there are even some spectacularly romantic gifts you can give a sweetheart while still enjoying the spirit of this holiday.

Just for the fun of it. Giving a gift to a special someone or dear friend or family member is always a personally rewarding experience. There is something special about seeing a face light up at the mere thought of a surprise. The truth is St. Patrick's Day gifts can be as much fun to give as they are to receive.

The selection. There are some excellent ideas for St. Patrick's Day gifts. Looking them over and choosing presents for friends, family or a sweetheart can be fun in and of itself. You are likely to find that present options range from kitschy to very classy. From Irish green horns and traditional derbies to diamond shamrocks, you will find them all if you look around.

Just because St. Patrick's Day is not a traditional gift-giving holiday does not mean you cannot make it so. In fact, doing so can be very rewarding and a whole lot of fun, too. Use your imagination and open your eyes, you are more than likely to find some fantastic ideas for anyone in your life.

Sexy Wizard Wanda Potter Halloween Costume - LARGE

Sexy naughty wizard will cast a spell on you! Costume includes dress with pleated hem, cape with attached collar and neck tie, glasses and wand.

Snowglobes have intrigued the hearts of men and women as far back as I can remember. And why wouldn't they? Not only are they creative, they all seem to take on their own life and lavishness. Just one little shake and you can't help but be hooked.

But I wouldn't bring you over here just to hear a story about a snowglobe would I?

Great reasoning!

So what is this about?

At Christmas time, consumerism abounds promising happy hearts for young and old alike who make this or that special product the gift of Christmas. Heartwarming Christmas movies become the box office attraction for movie goers all over the world. TV takes its annual holiday classics to the masses and advertising moguls flood our eyes and emotions with enchanted commercials that would even melt the heart of Frosty with their warmth. And who can overlook those wonderful Christmas carols that serenade us everywhere we go.

"May all your Christmases be white," one carol states.

It seems the world is alive with the magic and aglow with a spell of enchantment.

I have one word for all this.

SNOWGLOBE!

You ever notice when you shake a snowglobe that you can't help but get lost in its solemnness and elegance. Snow has never looked so pretty and peace on earth seems to be reflected in each flake that falls. Sometimes you just want to crawl inside and lose yourself in its panorama of tranquility.

"If life were only like this snowglobe,"
one can't help but reason.

I wonder if this was a little of what Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was feeling when he penned the poem that became the song, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day"? Wrestling with the loss of his wife a couple years prior in a house fire, the crippling wounding of his son in the American Civil War that still raged as he heard the bells that Christmas day so long ago and took up his pen to write,

"I heard the bells on Christmas day
Their old familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet the words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men.

And in despair I bowed my head:
"There is no peace on earth," I said,
"For hate is strong and mocks the song
Of peace on earth, good will to men."

Then pealed the bells more loud and deep:
"God is not dead, nor does He sleep;
The wrong shall fail, the right prevail
With peace on earth, good will to men."

If we are not careful, we can become convinced that the message of Christmas is all about making life for us like a snowglobe.

It isn't, you know?

The message of Christmas is really about the chaos we all want to escape, not in the snowglobe enchantment we all seem to chase this time of year. When you think about it, scripture tells us that Jesus had the snowglobe, but He crawled out of it to enter our chaos.

The next time you get swept away in the magic, remember the real message of Christmas. It's about God entering our world in all its chaos, not its enchantment. When you shut out all the noise this time of year and hear the sounds of bleeding, broken and lonely hearts all around you reminding you of this, you are now seeing Christmas as it was meant to be seen.

It was not an enchanting castle where Christ would be wrapped in robes of royalty that He chose for His bed that first Christmas night, it was a stable and a meager manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes.

Doesn't sound much like a snowglobe, does it? But then, neither does our lives.

Sexy Medusa Adult Costume

This sexy, mythical costume was once a beautiful sea nymph! This Sexy Medusa Adult Costume includes a velvet type dress with gold trim and attached veils and a snake headpiece. This is also great for Toga Parties!

If you are like me and are a very lousy shopper and always end up getting everyone the wrong gift at Christmas time, think about a Gift-of-the-Month Club. G.O.M Clubs have all the things the lazy gift giver requires: Ease of purchase, no shopping at the dreaded mall and an almost guaranteed positive response accompanied by a monthly "At-A-Boy" from the recipient. And there are plenty of clubs to choose from for everyone on your gift-giving list.

First, you have to know your giftee. For instance, my dad is an avid coffee drinker. For him a coffee of the month club would be perfectand there are plenty of choices. At some places, You can choose anything from flavored coffees to dark roasts to a monthly sampler.

However, coffee clubs aren't the only types of gift of the month clubs. You can get Fruit-of-the-Month clubs for the vegetarian in your life. Flower-of-the-Month clubs are popular with husbands and boyfriends who are constantly screwing up. Sign up your significant other for any of the many Flower-of-the-Month clubs and you have a ready set apology landing at her doorstep every 30 days.

There are a number of other clubs for everyone in your life: Gag-of-the-Month clubs for the prankster in your life; Wine-of-the-Month clubs for the wannabe wine connoisseur; Beer-of-the-Month clubs for the sports fan; Chocolate-of-the-Month clubs for the addicted; Pizza-of-the-Month clubs for the teen or college student; and Cigar-of-the-Month clubs for Granddad.

But how do you decide the best club? The Internet is always a good place to start your research. Go to any search engine and type in Gift of the Month clubs. You will find nearly 1,000 sites trying to sell you everything from DVDs to practical jokesall shipped monthly to the recipient of your choice.

However, you need to read the payment and delivery plans carefully. Many DVD and CD plans require that you put in a lot of work, sending back a card every month telling them if you want their monthly selection. If you forget, you are stuck with whatever they send. But worse than that, the recipient of your "gift" is stuck with the bill. Is that really a gift?

You may use this article on your site as long as the 2 URL's are hyperlinked.

Allen Shaw is a successful author who provides information on gift of the month clubs and wine clubs.

"I am the news director at USA News Network and have been working as freelance writer for 2 years. I've been published in a few magazines, newspapers and websites and my specialty up to this point has been movie and music reviews."

The Shrek movies certainly have created a huge base and while an ogre may not be everyone's dream prince, history shows it was for the lovable Princess Fiona who fell in love with the "big fella."

The Princess Fiona costume for Halloween is a perfect theme for an occasion which spans everything from horror to fantasy. And it's sure to earn you plenty of "brownie points" as others stick with the latest crazes. You'll have a great time when you choose this costume, although there are some things that you can do to spice it up. So, here are a few great tips for using the Princess Fiona costume for Halloween this year.

1. First of all, if you are going with this outfit you'll want to make sure that you get the signature dress that made her famous in the movie. A full length dress in white and purple colors which seem to change slightly as far as the shade of purple was concerned. This is also accentuated in the choices as there are different offerings providing the different purple shades.

2. If you want to have some fun with the costume, consider changing it up with the human and ogre look. Remember, Fiona was first a human, then turned ogre, then turned human, and back to ogre again. Well, if you get the ogre mask to go along with the costume, you can go back and forth between being the human version and the ogre version of Fiona. Simply take the mask off from time to time and really have fun with this costume. No one will know which one you are supposed to be.

3. A Tiara is a Must - Of course since you are a Princess, you'll want to make sure that you have a tiara with the Princess Fiona costume. Sometimes you'll find that the tiara will come with the rest of the costume. However, in some cases you may end up having to actually purchase the tiara separately. Some of them even come with little ogre ears on them as well.

4. Take Along Some Friends - If you really want to have a great time with the Princess Fiona costume then consider taking along some friends with you. You'll be able to go as Princess Fiona, and your friends can play other parts, such as the Fairy Godmother, Prince Charming, Shrek, Donkey, and even Puss in Boots. You'll all have a blast and everyone will love seeing your group all dressed up in Shrek attire.

There will always be people who want their Christmas decorations to be a bit different, something unusual that will set their display apart from the rest. Whether it be using the very latest LED technology for animated outdoor displays, designer decorations from specialist artists, or just taking an old idea and giving it a new personal twist, they just want to think that their decor is unusual.

Are you one of those who would like a Christmas tree that does not look like a million others in a 20 mile radius? Maybe for the first time you have the inclination to do something different with the tree this year, but are not quite sure where to start? Here are some ideas that may help you get your thoughts together on how to create an unusual Christmas tree display, one that will get visitors to your home stop and say: "oh, that's unusual."

There are two basic ways you can achieve the unusual effect you want from your tree, and many variations of those two basics. You can also combine the two. The first is to choose a tree that is itself unusual, and the second is to decorate the tree with unusual or unique ornaments and decorations. For the big impression though, it is best not to rely on the minute detail of the ornaments, as these will not be immediately noticeable. So, for the first impact, it is best to focus on the tree itself, color and any tree decor that is immediately noticeable to someone walking in the room, such as rare lighting arrangements.

Unusual Christmas Trees

There was a time when a Christmas tree was just a Christmas tree, a real fresh cut tree brought from a tree farm or dragged from a nearby store. That was before artificial trees came on the scene and rapidly improved to the point today they make great alternatives. That definitely increases the scope for having an unusual Christmas tree display in your home.

Here are a few specific ideas:

1. Use an old tradition which has been rediscovered. Upside down Christmas trees date back centuries, in Germany, but if someone has not seen one before, it will definitely make an impact on them. While the originals were real, artificial versions are now readily available.

2. Go for a colored tree; colored other than green, that is. You can even go for a single color theme, with all decor being basically the same color as the tree, only in different shades. Pink is especially effective for this purpose, and makes a big visual impact. Light blue, navy blue, gold, and red, are all possible choices. It makes sense to find your matching ornaments before spending on the tree, just in case you have difficulty decorating your tree with right colored ornaments.

3. When it comes to decor and ornaments, the best place to make an immediate impact is with the tree topper. By choosing a larger than normal, unusually designed, and lighted tree topper you can attract quick attention to your tree.

4. You can, of course, use lighting effects to set your tree apart from the rest. However, be careful to not choose lights that will distract from the best features of your tree. For instance, with a color theme such as pink, it is better to have lights that subtly merge into the tree.

Aladdin Prestige Adult

Halloween is a fun time of year for children of all ages-and all species. For those of you who are pet lovers you might already know that you can find creative cat and dog Halloween costumes to make the holiday even more special for you and your furry friend. If this is something that you are interested in there are a few different options that you can look into to learn more about the topic. The first suggestion would be to search online to get an idea of what you would like to dress your pet up as. You can also go to the larger pet stores to see what they might have to offer you for information on the subject.

Once you know what type of creative costume your want for your pet you will need to decide what you will use for accessories. If you are planning on having your cat be a dog for Halloween you might want to have him wear bones made out of paper around his neck. Just something simple and cute like that would work. Why not have your pet's costume match the theme as your children's? Your little girl could be Bo Peep while your black lab could be her lost sheep. Looking for an idea that is a little more complicated? Have your son be Elliot and your rat terrier can be E.T. the alien. The most fun part about Halloween is that you get to let your imagination and creativity run wild.

If you are planning on taking your old pooch "trick-or-treating" with the family you will want to take this into consideration, does the costume work well with a collar and leash? You wouldn't want something tragic to happen to your beloved friend on such a joyous evening. In the even that you might be out past dark you should put reflective tape on the collar and leash of your pets. You could also purchase these accessories that are made for doing such activities in the dark. Also, make sure the costume fits properly. Too small of a costume could be hazardous to your pet because it might not allow your pet to move as easily. If danger where to head your way your pet might not be able to get out of the way in time due to the restrictions. Always be sure to never leave your pet unattended while in a costume. An animal can easily become tangled up while wearing a costume and this could lead to serious injuries or even death.

You can shop for your cat or dog Halloween costume at most pet stores. Online is another option for shopping. Many pet suppliers have catalogues that you can have shipped right to your door to look through. You will be able to mail in an order or even make a purchase online. Making your own costume is another possibility. You can find free patterns or patterns for a relatively low cost online or at fabric stores. Whichever method you decide to use to allow your pet to join in on the fun is up to you. Just be sure to have the perfect fit for the safety of your pet. Don't forget to give your pet a couple treats, too.
