With the holiday season already upon us our thoughts quickly turn to family and friends. What do the holidays hold for you? Are you filling your days dreaming about the parties you will attend the shopping you have to do and the gifts you will exchange? Why not consider sharing some of your festive spirit with someone less fortunate. You could be the difference between a family experiencing a blessed holiday season or struggling to make it through.

Whose life are you going to touch this holiday season? What are some of the ways you could help? Who would you help if you could? How can you make a difference? Youre only one person, you say.

There are many places to look for the answer to these questions. Perhaps just a single coin in a bell-ringers bucket is all you can afford this year. If that is the case then give them your nickel. Better yet, give them your time.

No time? How about looking at what you are purchasing for gifts this season. Why not purchase a gift that will give joy to more than just the receiver? There are many opportunities to share in this way. One that quickly comes to mind is the Letter from Santa Charity Drive. DocUmeant and Admin Caf have teamed up in support of this year's Work At Home Mother (WAHM) Sponsored Charity Drive benefiting families going through hardship due to extensive medical conditions.

Ginger Marks and Michelle Jasper believe that because children are who make the holidays wonderful, children should benefit from this special holiday spirit. Letters from Santa presents children the unique opportunity to receive their own personalized letter from Santa. Through their Letters from Santa promotion they are donating 20% of their sales to this Charity Drive. To participate, contact DocUmeant at DocUmeant@gcn.cx or visit their webpage at http://www.documeant.net or you may offer your services to the charity drive. Visit their WAHMs web site at: http://www.wendysvarietyshop.com/Charity.html

Another opportunity to support those in need is to choose from the list of organizations at beliefenet.com. Beliefnet.coms listings are categorized in three convenient groups. These groups are: Hunger & Poverty, Health & Education, and Environment & Animals. They also believe Christmas is a time for giving. Their site is configured so that with a click of your mouse you can easily make a daily difference by triggering free donations to address issues like poverty, homelessness, violence against women, curing cancer, protecting the environment etc. Their thoughts are: We'll bet you have more to give than you realize!! Beliefnet.com

With the endless list of suffering people the choices you make this holiday could impact someones life in a positive way. Consider your options and support those less fortunate during this holiday season. Make a difference, today!

Create a memorable walkway. Trick or treaters will be coming up and down your walkway all night on Halloween. So you'll want to do something special for Halloween to decorate. An inexpensive way to decorate is with paper bag lumineres. You can make these with paper lunch bags, small rocks and tea lights. Cut small images in each paper bag -- like a pumpkin or a witch hat. Then add some rocks to the bottom of each luminere as it lines your walkway. Add a tea light and light it. The lumineres will glow softly and people will see the images that you cut out.

Add a Halloween-themed wreath to the door. Your door should have a Halloween-themed wreath to greet everyone that comes to your door. A fun Halloween-themed wreath to make is to use silk roses to create a wreath and then spray them to be colored black or even silver. A wreath that is a unique color will get lots of attention. A black wreath is especially attention getting for Halloween.

Don't forget Jack (O'Lanterns)! Now what would Halloween be without Jack O'Lanterns? Every home should have Jack O'Lanterns in front of their doorstep. But you want your home to look original. An easy way to get an original look is to do a Jack O'Lantern for each family member in a very simple carving style. Cut two holes for the eyes and a hole for the mouth. These bold, expressive Jack O'Lanterns will be the envy of the neighborhood and everyone will notice just how great your porch looks.

Set the scene with spooky music. Every home should welcome their Halloween guests with spooky -- or Halloween themed --- music. You can easily find soundtracks at party centers or large discount stores. Set up your CD player right by the door, or put a speaker in your mailbox. Another option is to open a second floor window and pipe the music through that. Be sure to be considerate of your neighbors and turn the music off before 9:30 p.m. as many will be putting kids to bed or turning in themselves.

Greet your guests dressed in Halloween style. Get into the total Halloween spirit with a Halloween costume that suits your home's decor. If your home is extra spooky, then you should be dressed in something spooky. If your home is quaint and cute -- then you too should be dressed in something quaint and cute. Party rental stores are great places to find adult costumes perfect to get for Halloween. Or you can easily purchase a Halloween costume to wear for this special night. Online resources such as http://www.pumpkinkits.com offer many ideas and this will give you the perfect looking home that the whole neighborhood will be talking about all season long!

Taking a great photo for the family photo Christmas card looks like it should be easy. But as any parent who has attempted this holiday ritual can tell you, it's not as simple as it looks. What you want is a unique, beautiful photo Christmas card. And what you usually get is fidgety, uncooperative kids that blink just as you're taking the picture. But don't give up and throw in the Santa hat just yet. Here are 6 easy, smart solutions to those top challenges.

Challenge 1: You want a festive holiday background for your family photo Christmas cards, but don't want to decorate your house with strands of lights and tinsel in November.

Solution: Use the Mall. Department stores and shopping malls are decorating for the season earlier and earlier, many times right after Halloween. These holiday backdrops are perfect for family photo Christmas cards. Gather the kids in front of the twinkling lights and a few camera clicks later, you'll have a great shot.

Challenge 2: Your toddlers won't sit still long enough to take the photo.

Solution: Bring in the props. Get out the oversized teddy bear or other toy that fascinates them. Try posing them with the dog or cat. Give them something simple to do, like ring a Christmas bell or kiss their sister on the cheek. Use trial and error until you find the item or activity that interests them long enough for you to take a few pictures.

Challenge 3: Your teenage kids don't feel like posing for a family photo.

Solution: Don't make them pose. Instead, make action the focal point of your photo Christmas cards, highlighting things that your teenagers love to do. Take photos of them showing off their abilities. Whether they are in the swimming pool, a canoe, sinking a basketball, riding a horse, baking holiday cookies, playing with the dog, or enjoying another activity, your holiday cards will offer a glimpse into your family's interests and personality.

Challenge 4: You'd like to send photo Christmas cards that are witty and fun, just like your family.

Solution: Create your own holiday story picture, by setting up a scene. Here's some ideas. The kids can discover Mommy kissing Santa Claus (Daddy in disguise). Put the young kids in a bubble bath with Santa hats and bubble beards. Capture a snapshot of each family member grabbing a slice of pizza with the message "pizza on earth". Photograph an empty plate of cookies and finished glass of milk in front of "guilty" looking kids with the caption "sorry Santa!"

Those after Halloween costume sales can come in handy when trying to set up a whimsical photo. How about posing your little angels with angel wings you picked up at discount? Other possibilities could be your kids dressed as cats (Meowy Christmas), super heroes (have a super Christmas), a baby in a pea-pod costume ("peas on earth") or a lion and a lamb costume for two children.

Challenge 5: You'd like a beautiful photo Christmas card that doesn't look like the same, tired, group family photo you send out every year.

Solution: Change the location of your photo shoot. If you're within driving distance to a beach, there are a lot of unique photo opportunities. Pose the kids on a sleigh on a sand dune. Write Merry Christmas on the sand, and have everyone sit behind the inscription. Build a sand snowman with a straw hat, sunglasses, and seashell nose.

Autumn provides a lot of great possibilities for photo Christmas cards. Try taking photos of the kids playing in a pile of leaves, in a pumpkin patch or on a hay ride. Make lovely scenery your backdrop and it can create atmosphere that elevates your photo Christmas card to a new level.

Challenge 6: When you struggle to take a family group photo, someone always blinks their eyes, turns their head or doesn't smile. It seems nearly impossible to get one perfect shot where everyone looks good.

Solution: Choose a card company that offers photo Christmas card designs that contain multiple photos of your family. The latest trend in holiday photo cards is to include several of your photos on one card in a unique, holiday layout. This has become popular because it is much easier to take great, individual photos of your family members than one acceptable group picture.

Whatever particular challenge you face when composing your photo Christmas cards, there is an easy solution. Try these creative approaches and soon you'll be hearing from your friends, relatives, coworkers and neighbors how much they loved this year's family holiday photo card.

Organizing a Halloween party for kids can be both extremely enjoyable and at the same time challenging. There are a number of items that you will need to prepare beforehand and a whole bunch of things that may perhaps possibly go wrong. Plus, you're talking about planning a ghoulish Halloween party for youngsters whose attention span can be as short as a candle wick. The party can easily go out of control with kids getting boisterous, trying to best one another with their costumes, treats, etc.

Although having some sort of control would be a great but also remember that this is a children's party, an iron hand rule would be overdoing it. Now there are a number of ways to make your audience listen. One way would be to keep them busy by having them participate in party games. There are quite a number of party games that you can organize that would certainly grab the attention of your kids.

If you're familiar with the game called Mummy Wrap, you know the kids will be glad to participate with this one. As the name of the game implies, it involves wrapping someone with mummy wraps which in our case equates with a roll of toilet paper. The game is simple. You just need to group the kids into small groups and have them designate someone to wrap. At your cue, the wrap the "mummy" with toilet paper from head to feet. The group that were able to wrap fully their mummy the fastest would be the winner.

Several Halloween games I know are just variations of exiting party games. We have the Halloween musical chairs and the freeze dance. Both I'm certain you already know. It doesn't hurt to be a little creative with your chairs. You can easily make the children feel it's a Halloween game it you make the chairs ghoulish looking like maybe making them appear like tombstones or using darker colored chairs and adding some cobwebs.

And don't forget the music. You can easily find Halloween music in the nearest record store or in the internet. For further enjoyment, you can ask the kids to dance in a "monstery" or ghoulish kind of way. You can even give a prize to the kid that will give the best monster dance.

Don't forget to give prizes to your game winners. This will persuade them to participate in the next games.

A different game which seems to popular is the building a scarecrow game. This entails having numerous groups of children make their scarecrow using pillow cases, old clothes, newspapers, cardboards, tapes or adhesives, and markers. You will have to set up some old clothes for this one. The children will certainly enjoy making something that often see in television and books.

You can also have a Halloween candy hunt which basically is a departure of the Easter egg hunt. By this time, we just hope that the kids haven't discovered yet the candies you hid around the area.

Don't forget to have a scary story telling time as well. Ask one of your guests or friends to tell a story to the kids at the party. Avoid making the story too scary though.

There are other ghoulish Halloween party games that can still do. Just remember that this is the children's day and your objective is to have them enjoy the day.

Most people are not aware of the fact that there are dangers of Halloween props. When it comes to trying out your decoration skills and expressing your creativity, Halloween is a great holiday! Many individuals work all year to accumulate props and develop creative ideas on how to design their home, their lawn, and other areas like their sheds for Halloween.

Unfortunately, in most cases, these individuals fail to consider the fact that there can be true dangers associated with the items that they use to decorate with. Here, I will share with you some of the most common dangers of Halloween props when used during this fall holiday.

One of the most common Halloween props is the implementation of "spider webs" in the area that one wants to attract fear. There are web products that are sold in decoration stores as well as department stores that are composed of string, rope, and even wire. Many accidents occur each year when this type of product is placed low enough to catch someone's foot, or even high enough for the individual to actually run into.

While this type of prop may only leave some minor cuts, scrapes, or bruising, it is all uncomfortable. If falls are experienced, it may result in serious injury. If you are going to put up this type of webbing, set it in an area away from where people will frequent.

The next type of Halloween prop that is relatively common are dark lights, colored lights, and even black lights. At first glance, these appear to be completely safe and innocent types of lighting, but if you use them as the only source of lighting, the area may be so dark that it drastically reduces visibility.

When this occurs, someone may run into something that could harm them, or even fall and experience a number of injuries. If you plan on using this type of lighting, it may be good to use some small powered lights, such as battery operated lanterns that can be included as part of the festive decorations in order to improve visibility.

As you can see, there are a number of dangers that can be associated with Halloween props. While I have only listed a couple of examples here, they are real examples that will get your mind focused on determining the best method of decorating with props this Halloween. Remember to "think outside the box" when it comes to potential dangers while using Halloween props so that you and your guests can enjoy a safe evening this year!

Eighth-Grade Boy Sent Home From School for Jesus Christ Halloween ...

The month of October brings everyone's favorite holiday, Halloween and New York is full of events that are sure to get you scared and excited at the same time. One of the most important parts of Halloween occurs before the event and that is the designing of the costume. Much time and preparation goes into designing the most original but yet freaky costume. Not just a New York thing but the world over, males are normally more reluctant than females to get dressed up in any type of costume, regardless of the event. Women have always been more enthusiastic about getting dressed up and this applies to Halloween. Well, this year it's time for the males to leave their inhibitions at the door and get creative with their costumes. To help males make an impact at this year's Halloween events I've put together some pointers to help them with their costumes.

The traditions of Halloween go back to ancient Celtic festival known as Samhain, which was known as the end of the harvest season in Ireland. The Irish would take stock of their supplies and slaughter livestock in preparation for the winter months. Overtime, Halloween symbols have evolved such as the carved pumpkin with a candle in it, to trick-or-treat, bonfires, ghost tours and more recently costume parties. Today cities like New York have major events marking the date. One event that attracts people to New York is the Village Halloween parade. Over twenty thousand people participate in the event with over a million people lining the streets, making it the biggest Halloween parade in the world.

The problem with males getting dressed up in costumes is that they feel stupid. To help males feel less stupid is to join forces and go as a couple costume, this will take the pressure of your man. The trick is to keep the costume manly, don't pick a costume that is going to make him feel insecure every time you leave his side at an event. A classic Halloween costume for couples to wear is the Cowboy and Saloon girl outfit. Every male as a boy loved getting dressed up as cowboy and that feeling lives on in all of us, we jump at any opportunity to don the Cowboy shirt and hat. A Halloween costume that will turn heads at any New York events is the Zorro and a Senorita outfit. An outfit any male could throw together, all they need is a black shirt, black pants, black mask and a fencing sword. Another fantastic outfit for couples is the Pirate and Treasure Chest costume, he dresses as a pirate while she wears a gold shirt, and attaches gold, silver and peal beads. Everyone looks forward to Halloween events and the women don't have to have all the fun getting dressed-up, encourage your man to get creative and he'll come out of his box and surprise everyone.

James has recently moved to New York and he's looking forward to checking out Halloween in the big apple. With so many New York events listed this Halloween it's hard to decide where to go. To help with your decision he recommends using Metro212, which he believes is a good source for all New York events and nightclub listings including dating services.

Scooby-Doo Daphne Child Costume

Costume includes wig, light green scarf, magenta mini dress, boot tops. Available in Child sizes: Small (4-6), Medium (8-10), and Large (12-14). This is an officially licensed Scooby-Doo costume
Customer Review: Bad sizing chart
My daughter was so excited for this costume. It came just in time for her school party. However the boot covers and the wig were way to small. (I think the wig would fit an infant-maybe!!) My daughter is a small 9 year old(wears size 7 in jeans) So I thought 8-10 size would fit. It left her in tears!
Customer Review: Very pleased
Prompt delivery and worth the money. My daughter still wears the costume for dress up around the house.

What do you want for your interior decorations as we approach Halloween? A lot is known about the usual preparations for Halloween. A few suggestions about Halloween decorations that will make your home and family stand out from the crowd and give your home the "halloween" feeling. Wouldn't it be fun to celebrate this year's Halloween with an African flavor for a change?Obama is change so think change this season! You can start by sourcing out some very frightful African Masks and paintings depicting black magic for the walls of your home. For the grinning masks you can get some weird ones from the Efik collection in Calabar. There are millions of masks and figures to choose from. Some very frightening costumes are also available in varying colors, shapes and sizes. You can make your Halloween a memorable one by adding some special effects such as a recorded Tarzan cry embedded in a Mandrill mask. Of course Halloween costumes calls for creativity and uniqueness.

Moreover, when it comes to interior decorations there are very good sculptures and wall to wall paintings of African and West Indian origin available which are certainly very "Halloweenish". You may think of keeping the colorful wall paper long after Halloween as they are art pieces worthy of keepsake. Your Jack-O-Lantern could be made out of the sweet smelling hollowed out camphor trees mixed with exotic spices to give a fragrance that will linger long after Halloween. Remember Africa is still the home of witchcraft(voodoo) and superstition and if you are seeking directions or want to acquire (stuff at great prices) from Africa to distinguish your home come Halloween then think African this Halloween.
